If you’re into home decor or passionate about the arts, you can breathe new life into any space with Liz Covington’s floral watercolors. Not only are her pieces made to tell a story, but they’re also crafted by the hand of an expert, award-winning watercolorist.

What sets Covington apart as an artist is not just her style, but her experience. While she is particularly active in the Los Angeles art scene, her roots are in Minnesota, and she got her start in watercolors through an interest in calligraphy. Her perspective is informed by over 30 years of experience as a practicing family physician as well as her passion for travel. As someone who genuinely cares about the well-being of others, art should be more than effective storytelling — it should be healing.

Consider, for instance, one of Covington’s signature floral pieces, “Sunflowers.” This soft warmth and dreamy colors work in tandem to create a piece that is both surreal and yet very distinct. Covington’s florals all feature this unique style that combines the ethereal beauty of watercolor with the training and experience of a seasoned artist.

This coming month, keep an eye out for two of Covington’s original pieces at the Burbank Arts’ “Hidden Jewels” exhibit. There, you can find “Blossom” and “Abstract Man II.” The reception for this event is February 7 in Burbank at the Betsy Lueke Creative Arts Center from 7 to 9 PM. The exhibition itself will run until February 27, 2020.

Covington also offers a variety of other different subject matter in her gallery, including:

  • Portraits and still-lifes
  • Landscapes and cityscapes
  • Abstracts and political pieces
  • And much more

Whether you’re a lifelong lover of floral watercolors, or an aficionado wanting to spice up your collection, Liz Covington is a watercolorist offering something different from the rest.
